A Reading List for the Anti-Racist Christian
It is important to state right off the bat: reading anti-racist literature will not automatically make someone anti-racist. These authors present helpful guides, moving testimonies, and well-researched histories and data but they cannot do the work for you. I strongly encourage you, whether you’re a lay person or a member of the clergy, to resist the urge to simply not be racist, but actively practice anti-racism from your sermons to your outreach ministries and everything in between.
“In too many churches and organizations, listening to the hurt and pain of people of color is the end of the road, rather than the beginning.”
— Austin Channing Brown
